I had the opportunity to shoot Lindsey and Jason’s wedding with the always awesome and gracious Tania Sones on Saturday in West Hartford, not to be confused with West Haven.
Although the day had a few showers, the ceremony and reception were amazing. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Anyone who doesn’t think teachers deserve the summers off and has any bitterness towards that free time should be up with me now (it’s 4:30 a.m.) grading papers, updating my class website (www.kchsspanish.com), calculating grades, researching new activities, etc. Yeah… I’m pulling the first of many all nighters for the academic school year.
I work hard!

Last week I got to second shoot for Tania at Tracy and Pat’s wedding. The lighting when she got out of the limo was PERFECT.. Check out the architecture in the church, too!!! Thanks again Tania!!!
More pictures coming soon from yesterdays wedding… again with Tania Sones

I recently purchased the new and improved flash from Nikon, the SB 900, from B&H Photo Video. Once again… THEY ROCK and I will only be purchasing from them in the future.
I ordered the flash last Sunday on their website through Google Checkout. For whatever reason, the order wasn’t sent from Google to B&H until Wednesday. So B&H put the order in for next day delivery (which I received yesterday) and today refunde the cost of the shipping I originally paid. TAKE THAT “A” STORE!!! For those of you who don’t know… “A” STORE is a company I won’t be ordering from unless they do some serious butt kissing which can be read about in previous posts.
Here is a photo I took to compare the SB 900 to the 800 and 600. The 900 is H.U.G.E. and has a CRAZY awesome flash. I am so psyched to use it tomorrow when I shoot with Tanya in Hartford.

I’ve been busy lately getting ready for an invitational cross country meet that my school hosts. This year we will have over 600 participants from over 20 schools! Anxious is an understatement to say the least.
The athletes on my team are bright, kind, funny, enjoyable and understanding. I appreciate having the opportunity to spend time with them and their equally as amazing family members. Life is good!
This is just one of the many hats I wear… and I couldn’t imaging it any other way.

Life has been crazy lately with school starting and coaching the cross country team and shooting…. I’m just about to head out to our first race of the season. Should be a sloppy one after all the rain we got yesterday. NICE!!!
Anyway… check out my back deck this morning. Can’t wait to drive to the race in this!

We are going to refer to the 2nd most popular photography store in Manhattan by the “A” store and not its full name for this post. You see, THE MAN might find out I am talking negatively about him and I don’t need him on my doorstep all angry and puffy chested.
I have this GREAT idea that I am going to buy something from the “A” store and not from B&H Photo Video. Don’t ask me why. I have never had any problems with B&H’s shipping services and always get their stuff THE NEXT DAY. For whatever reason, I go on the “A” store’s website and I locate the CF card that I want, click purchase, and I eventually make my way to the shipping page. I see that for an extra $1.95 I can have the card shipped in 2-4 days. It’s only $2. I can live with that….. hmmmm wait, I can’t seem to find HOW my package will be shipped. On the B&H website, you have nearly every option available… even by postal carrier on horseback. Well, maybe not that far, but you get my drift. So I go ahead, purchase… they take my $110, and I get the tracking number. This was Friday (Aug. 29) and being a Jewish run store, they are closed soon after noon. No big deal… but it’s a holiday weekend so it doesn’t ship until Tuesday. Ok… so I will get it on Friday. I’m okay with that. Friday comes… no card. So I call the store. The nice gentleman on the phone says, and I quote, “your package will be there tomorrow.” I ask him, calmly by the way, why on their site I cannot choose the shipping method. His blunt response. ”Our system calculates what the cheapest way to ship the item would be. You can’t blame us, you did only pay $2 for shipping.” ok….
Wait until you see this… Below is the tracking information and below that is the map that my CF card has traveled. Try to follow it.
A = the “A” store
F = Where Mr. and Mrs. NoDo Photography live

So, I am a B&H guy… NEVER, EVER will I order from that “A” place again.

I finally got a chance to sit down and go through my photos from the wedding I shot with Robert Norman back in August. The last month has been crazy getting ready for school to start and organizing the cross country invitational that the team I coach hosts every year.
Anyway, another thanks to Robert for having me along for the day… Here are the pictures and some of my anecdotes to go along with them.

The flowers at Harkness are AMAZING!

It’s called scrambling. Not a hike, not rock climbing, but a scramble. The white trail is the hardest to climb and we did it. She did it without complaining. 3.5 hours of hiking covering over 5 miles of trails. It took place in Cold Spring, NY. Yep, I love my wife, I love my life.
The route: (from the back side after coming down)
The view from the first peak: (it says “pics” above)
This is the “we made it face:” (at the top)
What we felt like after the adventure: (the zoom and spin while dragging the shutter)
